Metal Etch Primer
A premium-quality single pack (pre-treatment) etch primer suitable for spraying, dipping or brush application to well-prepared mild steel. Used extensively as an after blast primer.
Available in 500ml, 1, 5 and 20-litre packs, unless otherwise stated.

Dekade Metal Etch Primer is a single pack Poly vinyl Butyral pre-treatment primer. Provides good adhesion and flexibility.
Ideally suited as a fast drying pre-treatment prior to applying a full paint system. Used extensively as an after blast primer. Provides an excellent surface for a variety of paint systems.
Surfaces to be coated must be thoroughly cleaned with Dekade Trade Degreaser followed by water rinses and drying.
STEEL: For best results abrasive blast to SA 2.5 of the Swedish Standard.Alternate but less effective: Prepare steel by wire brushing to the above standard.
Overcoat as soon as possible after blasting: before flash rusting occurs. GALVANISED IRON: Thoroughly clean with Scotchbrite Pads and Dekade Galvanised Iron Cleaner. Repeat this procedure until a water break free surface has been obtained.
Not designed to withstand natural weathering.
Do not apply over rusty unprepared metal surfaces.
Stir thoroughly with flat paddle before use. Ready for use as supplied or thin up to 20% with Etch Primer Thinners or Lacquer Thinners. For airless (no thinning required) and conventional spray (thin up to 50%). Clean up with Etch Primer Thinners, Butanol, Methylated Spirits or Lacquer Thinners
