TECHNICAL DATA SHEET
Exterior Wood Dressing is a penetrating type of dressing. Previously varnished surfaces will have to be sanded back to bare wood to allow the material to soak well into the wood. Ideal for exterior wood such as wendy houses, sun decks, window frames, doors, fascia/barge boards etc where a durable, easily maintained waterproof dressing is required.
Will not crack, flake or disintegrate on timber. Especially formulated using a blend of synthetic resins, oil, wax and a preservative which will give deep down protection to all new exterior wood. Designed to stain the wood and enhance its natural beauty, highlighting the grain of the wood. Dries to a durable sheen finish which will shed rain, dirt and repel fungus. Easily applied by brush to all new unpainted exterior wooden surfaces.
NEW: Surface must be clean, dry and well sanded. A minimum of 3 coats must be applied allowing a minimum of 48 hours drying time between coats.
PREVIOUSLY VARNISHED: Thoroughly sand and remove all previous coating to allow Wood Dressing to penetrate the fibres of the wood.
PREVIOUSLY TREATED WITH WOOD DRESSING: Wipe down with steel wool and mineral turps to remove dirt and grime. Apply 1 – 2 coats of Wood Dressing as required.
Must be well stirred with flat paddle before use. Do not apply to wet/damp timber. Important to treat the end grain of all exposed exterior timber to prevent the ingress of moisture. Important to apply a generous first coat on new timber.
Stir thoroughly with flat paddle before use. Application by brush. Thinning not necessary for 1st coat as Wooddressing conatins linseed oil. Minimum of 3 coats should be applied with light sanding between coats, for maximum protection. Pay attention to the end grain. Thin up to 10% with mineral turps for spray application. Clean up with Mineral Turps.
